There were so many works that I loved while looking through, specifically, all the gold key works! While it was hard to choose which ones were my favorite, I loved Atlas by Ashley Deede, Gated Entry by Gabriella Peranski, and Figure by Hannah Bowers because of multiple aspects. It was super interesting looking through all the pieces that won gold keys and silver keys and looking for aspects, especially in the gold keys, that led them to win. I think a common aspect between all of these pieces was they were all of super high craft along with having objective subjects. There was a wide range of colors used within each piece from black/white to vivids, but they all seemed to have very interesting lighting, shadows, or highlights; resulting in a creative and unique contrast. The first work I highlighted in this piece Atlas is unique because of how photorealistic it is, and how it feels like the cat's eyes are staring back at me. I also loved Gated Entry because of the high contrast and unique color palleted used within the piece along with an interesting composition. Finally, Figure was one of my favorites because of the unique pen and ink style contrast with black and white. I also loved the distorted and surreal message laid in the formation of the piece. I want to try to increase my craft in the future and create more interesting and unique compositions/subjects to draw more attention to my work. I also want to include more surreal images and messages because I belive it creates an interesting style.
