Oil Painting Process Post + Reflection

Overall, I thought this process was very fun despite being quite challenging. Oil painting is a medium I have never tried before, and It was a new experience! I enjoyed working with oil paints, and I think I would like to work again with them sometime in the future. The hardest part of this painting for me was drawing from real life as I am used to drawing from a photograph, and capturing all the shapes and shadows was much harder for me when drawing from real life. Despite this, I still think it was good to do because it improved my skills overall. Usually, I don't draw these types of still-life realism, and I think it is good to paint these as it improves my sense of composition. This project for me was very successful, and I liked how my piece turned out despite me being a little time crunched on the coloring part. I think if I had taken a little more time to refine my colors, I would have liked it a little bit better, but I still think it is very good for my first oil painting!
