Katya (or Ekaterina) Ivleva is a contemporary Russian painter who mainly focuses on figurative and portrait painting. She captures people and objects in their environment along with depicting animals with human features, also known as anthropomorphism. She uses oil painting as her main medium or form of painting and combines multiple visual elements to create unique original works that highlight her creativity.

I believe her works are stunning, and I love that she takes inspiration from her surroundings while also taking in aspects of her creativity through anthropomorphism. This leads to such a cool output of visual elements and interesting works. Along with this, I love her realistic style along with the surreal characteristics of anthropomorphic animals.

I believe both of these works are beautiful. I love their realistic qualities despite being so surreal and imaginative. Along with this, the color palettes in both of these works work very well. Despite being completely different, the duller tone in Best Friends works well to tie the piece together and portray a more lonesome message. the color pallet in Family however is much brighter which portrays the message of the classic family, and traditional life on the farm. These works feel like they have so much life to them and I love the use of anthropomorphism as I think it changes the energy of these paintings and makes them very unique. I adore this style and hope to incorporate pieces of it into my work in the future.
